Rosemary for your Hair

Rosemary is a great ingredient for hair care. Our hair soap not only contains the essential oil of rosemary, but the soap is also made with organic rosemary hydrosol. Rosemary oil stimulates blood circulation in the scalp. It is often used to prevent hair loss and promote hair growth. In addition, the anti-inflammatory properties make it a good additive for soothing the scalp and it is often used as a remedy for inflamed or highly sensitive scalp. In addition, the hair can feel thicker and look shinier by adding rosemary oil.

How do I use hair soap?

Wet your hair and rub the hair soap over your wet hair to create enough foam. Wash your hair as usual and possibly use your regular conditioner. As with other soaps, avoid contact with eyes.

Note: If you live in an area with hard water, it is advisable to rinse your hair with a vinegar rinse (1/3 vinegar and 2/3 water mixture). Rinse this through the hair (make sure it does not get into your eyes).

Greasy hair can be the result of the use of commercial shampoo. The commercial shampoo has often stripped the hair of its natural oils, so your scalp produces more oil to compensate for this. That is why it can take a week or more before your scalp re-balances oil production, during this period your hair can feel greasy or heavy. In addition, commercial shampoos and conditioners that often contain wax and synthetic silicones can make your hair feel 'nice' and 'soft', but these also leave a residue in your hair. You can help remove this build-up by rinsing your hair with 2 tablespoons of baking soda dissolved in a cup of warm water.

How do I keep my hair soap?

Because the handmade soap contains no chemical preservatives, it deserves a little attention to keep the soap good in order to extend its shelf life. The hair & body soap has a high percentage of natural glycerin (which is very nice for your skin), but that also attracts water, so it is important to keep the soap in a dry place. If you do not use the soap, it is best to let the soap dry on a well-drained surface. For example, use a soap dish (bamboo soap dish with slats). This ensures that the soap lasts a long time, so you can get the most out of your soap!

What is the difference between hair soap and a shampoo bar?

The hair soap is 100% natural and is made in the same way as soap. This makes the hair soap suitable for both hair and body use. The hair soap can dry out the hair a bit and that is why we recommend it for normal to oily hair. The hair soap can be very suitable for people with a problematic and sensitive scalp because of the natural oils and extra added rosemary oil. Because the hair soap is 100% natural, it has a shorter shelf life than a shampoo bar.

The shampoo bar is not 100% natural, but still very mild for the hair. The shampoo bars dry out the hair slightly less than the hair soap and feel more like a 'normal' shampoo. If you want to switch to more natural hair care, the first step could be to switch to shampoo bars and then switch to hair soap at a later stage. The shampoo bars are not suitable for use as a soap for the body. They are really developed for cleaning the hair. The shampoo bars have a long shelf life and keep well in a moist environment.
